The African Hair Fashion show is now over. It was a little slow getting started Saturday evening, but there were some very nice styles showcased. Although we have yet to meet about the magazine, here are a few of my favorites. I haven't done any touch ups yet so be nice. (I'm waiting to find out which photos they want to use before I invest a lot of time touching up the minor flaws.)

Hi everyone I know it has been a while. We are in the process of creating a new website with new contact information as the photography work picks up. If you have been following the newest work will be a hair fashion show June 12th here in DC. As I have new info and new images I will keep you posted.

Looking forward

Coming up in October I will have a chance to travel to Arizona to witness some Native American tribal dances. Although I will not be allowed to document all of these sacred dances, I will be able to document parts of them. A big difference from my work on coastal communities, I am excited by the idea of being able to explore something new for me and to share these deeply rooted cultural traditions with a new audience.

Museum

In addition to travel and wedding photography, I have been doing some documentary work for the local historical society. In addition to adding to the records they have of their artifacts I am able to give them images they can use in publications featuring the items the museum has on display.

Wedding Photography

Although wedding photography is not what I do most, it makes up most of my portfolio that is not travel related. The image above is actually an image I created for a theatre production called Disfunction Spelled Backwards, at American University.
Below is an image from a friends wedding I did in 2005. Getty Ready, was also exhibited in two exhibitions of my work later that year.
